Following a 5-day trial in the US District Court in Detroit, a jury tossed a former arrestee’s claims of excessive force against two City of Warren police officers and rejected his demand for $8.5 million in alleged damages.  Firm attorneys Anthony McHugh and Rachel Selina spearheaded the courtroom defense and Mark Straetmans and David Foy were also critical to the victory.  Prior to the jury’s deliberation on the excessive force claims, the Court dismissed four other claims made by the plaintiff against the City of Warren, former Police Commissioner Green, the Warren Police Department and two police officers.

The result of the trial was a complete vindication of the City, its Police Department and two officers.
