On October 13, Mark Straetmans and David Foy attended the East Side Youth Sports Foundation (ESYSF) 2018 Putting Kids First Celebration.
ESYSF is a non-profit organization dedicated to the growth of youth sports in the Metro Detroit area. Through grants, scholarships and programs, the Foundation makes sports available to all children. The Foundation’s mission to provide children with life lessons that will assist them during competition and beyond including good sportsmanship, citizenship, teamwork, physical welfare and more. The signature event, Try Sports For FREE Day, was held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at The Mack Athletic Complex in Detroit. The two-part event consisted of a sports clinic for 200 children in the morning followed by an adult-only “Putting Kids First Celebration” with a strolling dinner, live entertainment and silent auction. The event also included an awards ceremony during which the Community Champion Award was presented to a member of the community to honor the positive impact they have made in the lives of children in the Metro Detroit Area.
