On October 16th, Randolph M. Wright and six other members of the Western Michigan University Executive Forum participated in the annual Western Michigan University Hayworth College of Business CEO Day.
Each Executive Forum member presented a classroom lecture and participated in one of two plenary sessions. Berry Moorman Attorney Randolph Wright, who leads the Firm’s Business and Corporate Law Practice Group, presented a lecture on the topic of Financing a Start-up or Early Stage Business at a business finance class with a curriculum that covers topics on corporate finance, financial strategy, and international finance.
Other Executive Forum members participating were Robert Sauer, CEO of Woodland Paper Co., Gordie Kosch, CEO of Kosch Hospitality, Brian Cote, CEO of 44 North, Bruce Larson, President of Oscar W. Larson Co., John Bourbeau, COO of Right Management and Joseph Fleck, CEO of Empower Energies.
The US News & World Report 2018 “Top Undergraduate Business Programs” listed WMU’s Hayworth College of Business as one of the nation’s “best business programs,” joining just two other Michigan business schools – the University of Michigan’s Ross Business School and Michigan State’s Broad School of Business – to earn that prestigious recognition.
The Executive Forum members toured the Business School’s sales and business marketing lab which has recently been upgraded with state of the art technology, which, among other upgrades, allows real time interactions between students and professors from any location in the world. Western Michigan University is one of just a handful of universities that offer a major focusing on selling and sales leadership programs. Since 2007, the program has been recognized as having one of the “Top University Sales Programs” by the Sales Education Foundation, and is ranked No. 1 in “Top U.S. Sales Schools” by Study.com.
Each year the Forum presents two Scholarships to graduating seniors of the Business School who are veterans of the US Armed Forces. The WMU Executive Forum members met with the 2018 Scholarship Recipients. This year, the recipients were a US Army veteran and a US Marine Corps veteran, who had previously been deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. Berry Moorman was honored to be represented in this presentation that recognizes the sacrifices and honors the achievements of our Armed Forces’ Veterans.
