Berry Moorman P.C. attorney John Schrot was often quoted in a June, 2020 American Bar Association Family Law article entitled “Divorce lawyers say technology changes may outlive the COVID-19 pandemic.”   Family law attorneys  and  spouses have had to scramble  to  meet  the  unprecedented  challenge  of  the  pandemic.  Custody and parenting time have presented unique challenges due to stay-in-place orders, travel, and safety.    Parents need to cooperate.

Access to the courts has been limited. Videoconferencing is the norm. Psychological evaluations are less frequent.  Economic damage to assets impacts resolution.  The new technology changes are fortunately here to stay.

John Schrot is a shareholder with the Law Firm of Berry Moorman P.C. with a legal career that spans over 40 years and predominantly focuses on family law, arbitration and other intricate personal and contractual relationships.

Recognized as a Top Lawyer in Metropolitan Detroit in the practice areas of family law and litigation, Mr. Schrot was again this year selected by his peers as a Leading Lawyer in family law in Michigan, and is annually selected as a Michigan Super Lawyer and is awarded an AVVO 10.0 Superb Rating.  Mr. Schrot also served as the Co-Chair of the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section’s Ad Hoc Committee for a Twenty Year Review of the Family Court System in Michigan.
