BIOGRAPHY
Ann M. O’Connell is a tax attorney with extensive experience representing clients in complex tax matters. She advises individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations on tax controversy issues, tax planning, and compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
Ms. O’Connell represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Michigan Department of Treasury, as well as in proceedings before the United States Tax Court, the Michigan Tax Tribunal, and the Michigan Court of Appeals. Her practice focuses on a broad range of tax-related matters, including qualified retirement plans, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, welfare benefit plans, tax reporting and withholding issues, and Department of Labor compliance. She also provides strategic counsel on Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) matters and corporate tax planning.
Prior to joining Berry Moorman, Ms. O’Connell worked at Ernst & Young LLP and Rubenstein Isaacs P.C., where she gained significant experience handling complex tax issues for a diverse range of clients.
