On May 3, 2016, Randolph T. Barker, a shareholder in the Firm and a director of the Detroit Association of Realtors, presented a safety course to real estate salespersons and brokers. In light of a nationwide increase in the number of violent crimes perpetrated against real estate professionals, the course covered best practices for meeting with prospective clients and conducting property showings, and also discussed the legal implications of possessing and using weapons for self defense. The course will be offered again later in the summer to coincide with safety awareness programs offered by the National Association of Realtors.
